Australian Registered Migration Agent Jeff Harvie shares his thoughts of the day about Australian Partner Visas and Tourist Visas from the Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam and Cambodia

Jeff Harvie’s Thought Of The Day

Getting a LOT of visa assessments for Australian Partner Visas from Vietnam these days!

The Philippines has always been THE Asian country where Aussie men have gone searching for their bride. I suppose it all started with American servicemen being stationed here, or doing their R & R here and discovering the wonderfully sweet and pretty women who seemed to like them. And that’s where most of our visa business comes from, and will probably always be top of the list.

Vietnam? When I was a kid, it was on the news every day. The war zone. And a source of refugees in the late 70’s and 80’s. My first visit was 15 years ago. I remember seeing a see of beautiful slim ladies with long black hair wearing white ao dài outfits on motor scooters clogging the streets of Ho Chi Minh City. It’s got a bit more sophisticated these days, but the provincial charm still exists in the people. English language skills have improved a lot, so it’s a lot easier to get around.

And the increase in the numbers of visa assessments we see means I’m not the only one to appreciate these warm and friendly people who are often stunningly beautiful.

If you haven’t been? Put a visit to Vietnam on your bucket list!
